Herb-Parmesan English Muffin Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons cornmeal
  • 6 cups flour
  • 2 pkts. Yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup parmesan, grated

Instructions:

  1. Coat 2 loaf pans with butter and dust with corn meal.
  2. Make bread as is normal with 2 risings—add the cheese and spices AFTER the first rising.
  3. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.  Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons (each loaf) more cheese and bake for five more minutes.

Comments: You can substitute sliced green onions and cheddar cheese for the herbs and parmesan.
